Designed as a room divider or stunning centrepiece with all open sides, the mesmerising flame can be viewed from the top, front, back, left and right sides. With the Flex Bench fireplace insert, the entire viewing area is dedicated to the flame, creating a harmonious blend of the traditional fire pit and contemporary fire design.

One of the longest flames available in the Flex Series is created by using 2 of our ever-popular XL1200 Burners. With an overall heating capacity of 130m2 this appliance is best suited to large open spaces - think hotel lobby, large open plan restaurants.
Each burner holds 10L of fuel, and can deliver a stunning flame for up to 14 hours.

When you choose ethanol as your fuel source over gas or wood, you are totally simplifying your installation requirements and costs. There's no flue or chimney required when burning ethanol, which means that you have the ultimate in design flexibility to achieve an open fire in so many more areas of your home - both indoors and out.
What are the benefits of a zero clearance ethanol fireplace insert?
EcoSmart Fire’s Flex Fireplace Series has the necessary clearances to combustible frame components already built-in meaning they can be framed with wood studs. This gives you the freedom to install your ethanol fireplace insert in small and unique spaces. When selecting a location for the fireplace it is important to consider the required minimum room sizes and clearances. Please reference our Flex Series installation manual.
Can I extinguish my ethanol fireplace before the fuel has burnt?
Yes, you can turn your EcoSmart Fire ethanol burner off at any given time, even if there is ethanol still left in the burner. It is recommended however, that you leave it to burn until it completely runs out. The shut off mechanism is there for security and safety for those times when you need to leave the house, as it is not safe to leave a fire unattended. You need to wait until your appliance cools to room temperature (60 minutes) before re-igniting, this is because hot vapours are a hazard and may cause a strong, initial ignition if the ethanol has not cooled long enough. This is also to ensure that the flame has been totally extinguished and that the appliance is safe to refuel if the amount of fuel in the burner at that time is insufficient for your next ignition / use.
Is Bioethanol easily obtainable?
Yes, you can have fuel delivered to public and private premises in many countries.
How much does it cost to maintain an ethanol fireplace?
EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplaces require little maintenance. It is important to keep the lid closed when not in use to keep debris out of the ethanol burner that can cause corrosion and damages. The 304 stainless steel tank is built to last a lifetime if proper cleaning procedures are done when needed.
How safe are bioethanol fireplaces?
EcoSmart Fire’s operating tools, procedures, and proprietary technologies were developed with safety as our top priority. Made from 304-grade stainless steel, EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplace burners go through a deep-draw fabrication process that eliminates the potential for dangerous leaks. Additionally, our patented filling point is separated from the ignition zone and engineered so that the jerry can spout is fully supported prior to releasing the fuel supply. This eliminates the usual splash and spills that would otherwise occur when fuel is decanted into the burner while simultaneously reinforcing the maximum fill line within the burner. EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplaces release heat, carbon dioxide (the same stuff we exhale) and steam. Allowing you to enjoy a clean-burning flame without the soot, smoke, ash or other harmful substances emitted by traditional wood burning fireplaces. EcoSmart Fire’s fireplace inserts are ready to install heating appliances that include single or multiple ethanol burners within a designed zero-clearance enclosure. Choose from over 219 single sided, double sided, bay, peninsula, island, and bench fireplace styles at multiple lengths. Unlike gas fireplaces or traditional wood burning fireplaces, EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplace inserts require no venting, no gas line, no electricity - eliminating the need and cost of three sub contractors. Simply secure the ethanol fireplace insert in the framework, finish the surround, and it’s ready for use. EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplace inserts can be installed virtually anywhere - in walls, cabinets, small spaces, high rise buildings, commercial spaces, indoors and outdoors.
How large of an area will my ethanol fireplace heat?
The heat output of our indoor and outdoor ethanol fireplaces vary based on the model selected. When used indoors, EcoSmart Fire’s ethanol fireplaces comfortably heat between 215 sq feet and 700 sq feet.
